FIRST HOLY COMMUNION/FIRST PENANCE

First Holy Communion and First Penance Preparation is done by Fr. Kopel shortly after Christmas-separate from the Religious Education Program. A REQUIRED parent/student meeting is held - once at Sacred Heart Parish, Gettysburg and once at St. Pius X Parish.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM

The purpose of this program is to provide teaching in the doctrines, traditions, and practices of our Catholic faith.  We help our young people, along with their parents, to better understand their Catholic faith and encourage an active participation in the journey of their education.  Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children and are asked to help them learn their prayers and accompany them when they attend religious education functions.
